QA/QC Engineering

  • Maintain the document control disciplines essential for effective Quality Management

  • Influence personnel to incorporate quality methods
  • Assist with the delivery of quality support throughout the projects as required
  • Establish Supplier Quality Requirements
  • Undertake monitoring and measuring activities to monitor and measure compliance
  • Conduct internal audits (onshore and offshore) to measure compliance to the documented requirements
  • Conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance to quality and contractual requirements in accordance with the supplier approval program
  • Assist with the collation and analysis of performance data against defined parameters
  • Monitor implementation of Project Quality Requirements via document review, site visits, audits, Inspection Reports etc.
  • Manage the close out of NCRs arising on the Project and reviewing for trends
  • Undertake Performance Review on a regular basis to measure the effectiveness of the system

QA/QC Records

Particularly within the energy sector where as built records and handover documentation has huge importance, our QA/QC personnel ensure that these documents contain all of the required information which is validated as being correct. Typical duties that are undertaken include:

• Establish and maintain a proven QA/QC document control system. Set up an electronic data management system to suit the Project requirements. Manage and process all documentation to/from the Contractors, Consultants, and Vendors related to established commissioning and hand-over procedures in consultation with the QA/QC Manager
• Ensure proper storage of documents in both electronic and hard copy formats. 
• Prepare and maintain logs of documents issued and received.
• Archive QA/QC Project documentation with indexing and cataloguing.
• Provide drawings, standards and technical information to Project staff as required. 
• Provide training to colleagues in use of the document control system.
• Contribute to Company’s continuous improvement in HSE performance and quality management by ensuring safety, environmental and quality standards are maintained with the workplace.

Inspection Services

We have a wide experience in providing QA/QC Managers, Inspection Controllers, Welding Specialists, Inspectors and Technicians on major capital investment projects.

Our QA/QC Inspection Teams are fully trained and competent in ensuring the highest levels of inspection and quality control to meet the requirements of diverse and complex projects.

Pipeline Inspection

Pipeline inspection is a very important aspect of pipeline construction and commissioning, ensuring the integrity and safety of the pipeline that delivers gas to power and heat the UK.

The following categories of inspector can be provided from our specialist pipeline team:

Senior Pipeline Inspector

  • Acts in support of the Engineer in all technical matters relating to inspection.
  • Ensures that all aspects of inspection function effectively and that all technical specifications are complied with.
  • Undertakes inspection tasks and report.
  • Maintains accurate records and ensures that all inspection staff on site are fully conversant with and have access to the relevant specifications and codes of practice.

Senior Inspector Welding

  • Ensures that welding standards are observed and maintained at all stages of pipeline construction.

Welding Inspector

  • Ensures that all specified welding and mechanical handling standards are observed.
  • Ensures that welding parameters and pre-heat conditions are maintained according to the specifications and procedure qualifications.
  • Inspects and record all welds and relate visual defects and defects found by NDT to possible faults in materials, non-compliance with agreed procedures (e.g. handling) or to other causes.
  • Maintains visual inspection at intermediate and completion stages and, where necessary, request NDT.

Senior Inspector (NDT) Ultrasonic Operator

  • Inspects and reports on completed welds as required.
  • Implements tests for lamination and checks of wall thickness.
  • Knowledge of allied NDT techniques is desirable.

Ultrasonic Operator (plate)

  • Implements tests for lamination and checks of wall thickness.
  • Report of all such tests.

Magnetic Particle Inspector

  • Records and implements MPI (magnetic particle inspection) and interprets the results.
  • Report such results.

Radiographer

  • Ensure compliance with all specified requirements for radiography, including safety procedures.
  • Ensure that the approved techniques for taking radiographs and processing radiographic film are maintained.
  • Maintain records of all interpretations undertaken.
  • Report results obtained.

Radiographic Assistant

  • Implement the loading of radiographic film, radiographic operations and the processing of radiographic film.
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant specifications, codes of practice and safety regulations.

Painting Inspector Grade 1 (Offshore)

  • Act in support of the Engineer on all technical matters relating to paint and painting inspection.
  • Co-ordinate for the Engineer the work of the Painting Inspectors Grades 2 and 3 when required.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the paint and painting specifications are met.
  • Carry out all aspects of Painting Inspection.
  • Maintain records and ensure that the Painting Inspectors Grades 1 and 2 are fully conversant with, and have access to, the relevant codes of practice and specifications.

Painting Inspector Grade 2

  • Act in support of the Engineer (and/or the Painting Inspector Grade 1) on all technical matters relating to paint and painting inspection.
  • Co-ordinate for the Engineer the work of the Painting Inspectors Grade 3 when required.
  • Ensure that requirements of the paint and painting specifications are met.
  • Carry out all aspects of Painting Inspection.
  • Maintain records and ensure that the Painting Inspectors Grade 3 are fully conversant with, and have access to, the relevant codes of practice and specifications.

Painting Inspector Grade 3

  • Act in support of the Engineer and/or Painting Inspectors Grades 1 and 2 on technical matters related to painting inspection.
  • Carry out all aspects of painting inspection.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the painting specifications are met.
  • Maintain adequate records.

Painting Supervisor Grade 4

  • To supervise industrial Blasters and Painters in the preparation and application of Painting/Coating systems in accordance with all relevant standards, manufacturers data sheet recommendations, and environmental considerations.

Blast Cleaning/Preparation Operative Grade 5A

  • To prepare surfaces to various standards prior to the application of paints and related products, taking environmental considerations into account

Grade 5B Painting Operative

  • To paint or coat surfaces by brush roller or spray application to manufacturers and operators specifications. Taking environmental considerations into account.

Site Coating Inspector

  • Ensure environmental conditions are within specification prior to coating.
  • Ensure surface preparation and coating operations are carried out in accordance with the specification and/or procedure qualifications.
  • Maintain records and report as necessary.

Mill Coating Inspector

  • Act in support of the Engineer and/or QA surveyor on all matters relating to inspection.
  • Ensure environmental conditions are within specification prior to coating.
  • Ensure surface preparation and coating operations are carried out in accordance with the specification and/or procedure qualifications.
  • Maintain records and report as necessary.
