Scotland Gas Networks covers the whole of Scotland and Southern Gas Networks covers the south and south east of England and provide a safe and secure supply of natural gas to 5.7 million customers through 74,000km of gas mains and services.

Long O Donnell Associates are commissioned through the Project Services framework with Southern Gas Networks plc. on a sole award basis for the provision of full Project Support Services including Quantity Surveying and Cost Engineering Services, Risk Management, Programme Management to support Southern Gas Networks plc. for both their Southern based and Scottish based projects.

Key roles and duties are listed below:

  • Provide assistance in the development and evaluation of the Main Works Tenderers’ submissions as required.

  • The management of any subcontractors in the preparation and issue of design reports design and engineering consultants.

  • Management of public relation issues - liaison as required with all departments including Public Relations and Commercial Departments.

  • Risk Management.

  • Programme / planning management – to ensure that the project is planned, managed and constructed safely, to time, to cost and to quality standards.

  • Attendance and participation at other meetings and workshops as required by the client.

  • Management of the Main Contractor and other Contractors who may be involved in the completion of the project.

  • Mitigate the effect of Compensation Events on all contracts.

  • Ensure that there is compliance with the Design Brief, Minimum Functional Specification, H&S Plan, Environmental Management Plan and all standards, specifications and departmental standards.

  • Prepare site auditable administration documentation and provide relevant financial information for the clients Quality Management Systems.

  • Prepare and maintain database of all design issues, consultations, H&S issues, risks (by means of a risk register), environmental issues, mitigation measures, correspondence, consents, applications and approvals.

  • Attend, chair and minute weekly meetings

  • Report writing - monthly progress reports covering all activities of the Contractor and all other Consultants/Contractors

  • Attend any other financial or contract administration duties as directed by the client

  • Financial cost analysis audits and reconciliations

  • Acquire, collate and report project service provider and contractor working time statistical data on the projects reporting

  • Maintain a whole life cost monitoring and performance management package

  • Monthly accrual reporting.

  • Ensuring allocation of competent resource
