HNO35 Pipeline Reinforcement Project

« Back to the Portfolio

Wales & West Utilities Limited identified that the high-pressure gas pipelines HN035, HN036 and HN037 required replacement due to their poor condition. Several options were available for all three pipelines which involved the abandonment of some sections and the replacement of others with pipelines of equal or greater diameter.

The HN035 pipeline running from Pwllheli to Blaenau Ffestiniog involved the replacement of 4 and 6 inch pipelines, approximately 30km in distance. The pipeline required 14 HDD crossings, Under Pressure Stoppling Operations and also Offtake Connections and tappings. The project also involved remediation works at 10 Above Ground Installations, the construction of 2 new Pressure Reduction Stations and approximately 1000m of Low Pressure pipeline reinforcement. The Project was split into 3 Phases over a 2 year span.
