National Grid identified that the existing Gas Pre-Heating systems at 13 locations throughout the country needed upgrading. The existing equipment was either undersized to meet demand or required replacing due to integrity issues. New Modular Condensing Boilers and Heat Exchangers were installed along with all associated Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Instrumentation works as necessary to complete the Works.

Related works included structural design and engineering services of foundations, pipe and equipment supports, access platforms, pipe protection slabs, enabling infrastructure for new gas A.G.I’s and improvement of existing plants.

Long O Donnell Associates are providing Quantity Surveying responsibilities included: Project cost monitoring and reporting throughout the lifecycle of the project, Drafting and preparation of tender documentation, Evaluations of tenders and preparation of award recommendation reports, Contract Management during construction including EW/CW administration and contractual correspondence, final account negotiation and settlement.

Risk management responsibilities included facilitation of risk workshops, Preparation of risk models, Calculation and interpretation of quantitive risk analysis results.

Other tasks include CDM Coordinator responsibilities and HSE Inspections/audits on a regular basis and H&S advisor presence throughout project, assisting in completion of Data Books as per requirements of client procedures.
