M20 Diversion

« Back to the Portfolio

The Mallow link road from the proposed M20 Cork – Limerick Motorway scheme conflicts with the 150mm Goatisland to Mallow pipeline at the Northern outskirts of Mallow.  Cork County Council has requested to divert the pipeline to facilitate the construction of the road scheme.  A diversion of the 150mm, 70bar Goatisland to Mallow Pipeline is required.  It is proposed to replace 200m of the existing 4.78mm wall thickness, X42 pipe with 11.91mm wall thickness X42 pipe, by a diverted route at the appropriate level.

A two position stopple (6 Tees) with temporary bypass arrangement will be required in order to provide isolation to tie-in the diverted pipe and to ensure continuous flow in the pipeline.

Long O Donnell was commissioned to provide project services support including ITT preparation and on-going Project Management support as required.
