New CDM Co-ordinator

With the new Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM) due to come into effect on the 6th April this year, Long O Donnell Associates has been busy working with clients to ensure readiness when the changes come.

The Regulations will revise and bring together provisions from the existing CDM Regulations 1994 and the Construction (Health Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1996 into a single regulatory package. They will affect the responsibilities of both the Planning Supervisor (to be re-named CDM Co-ordinator) and the client and have been seen by the HSE and other regulatory bodies as a huge step forwards in the health and safety wellbeing of employees as well as providing a more robust role to manage the CDM aspects on a construction site.

To aid us with this change, we have appointed Kellie Field as CDM Manager for UK Operations. As part of the roll-out, Kellie and her team will be delivering a presentation to clients as a key mechanism to provide this valuable update.

Long O Donnell Associates work as H&S/Planning Supervisor on a range of projects in addition to its more familiar roles as Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager.
