Due to our continued growth we are currently looking to extend our core team of Quantity Surveyors.  As such we are looking to recruit a Project Quantity Surveyor (intermediate level) to join our team. 

This role would be perfect for individuals currently working as a Project Quantity Surveyor looking for a new challenge or an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking for the next step up in their career. Ideally you will come from an Energy, Oil & Gas, Water, Utilities, Mechanical Nuclear, Infrastructure or similar background with have experience of bespoke contracts or NEC3.

About the Opportunity.

As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining our existing team, to provide commercial support to a number of projects at various stages of their lifecycle predominately within the energy and oil and gas sectors. Your role will involve supporting the Senior and Principle Quantity Surveyors in pre and post contract work using predominately NEC forms of contract.

Location: This role will be based within the central belt of Scotland (Glasgow/Edinburgh area) with travel across Scotland as required.

Salary: Negotiable depending on experience.

The Candidate.

To be considered for this role, you will have previous experience working within a Project Quantity Surveyor capacity, ideally within the energy, oil, gas or petrochemical, mechanical, nuclear, infrastructure, water, utilies or similar sectors. Specifically, you should have:

  • Experience of working as a Project QS (ideally working on the Client’s side)
  • Experience of providing pre-contract support e.g. compilation of works information, preparation of ITTs, tender evaluations, negotiations, contract award etc.  
  • Knowledge and/or experience of contract strategy e.g. adapting / developing standard forms of contract to meet client requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience of administering contracts, in particular NEC3. This will include notification processes, assessment of additional works, contractual correspondence etc.
  • Experience/knowledge of financial management and governance procedures.
  • Solid experience and understanding of progress chasing requirements and progress capture mechanisms.
  • Experience of carrying out monthly assessments of contractor’s work.
  • Ability to effectively manage your time and adapt to changing priorities as required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to transport.
