Business Development Assistant / Junior Bid Writer

We are recruiting a Business Development Assistant / Junior Bid Writer to join our Business Development Team. Within this role you will be working closely with a Senior Business Development Co-ordinator / Bid Writer and to compose and deliver high quality, winning responses to bids/quotes and proposals. This is fantastic opportunity for a Creative Writing, Journalism, Business Studies/Management or Marketing graduate (or similar) to kick start their bid writing / business development career.

As a Business Development Assistant, you will be assisting a Senior Business Development Co-ordinator / Bid Writer in the production of robust, well-structured bid/proposal responses to win our company new business opportunities and inclusion on framework agreements with national and multi-national clients. This will include:

  • Assisting in the sourcing of staff/subcontractors to complete the proposed work both within the company and externally as required.
  • Completing research tasks to identify business opportunities / tenders which are coming up and reviewing them in order to make recommendations to senior team members on whether they are appropriate for our business.
  • Creating reports, letters and other documentation as appropriate.
  • Assisting with printing and binding as required.
  • Preparation of documentation relating to tenders, bids and/or questionnaires.
  • Arranging courier services to ensure that bids/tenders are delivered on time.
  • Assist in maintaining up to date records within our internal databases and libraries e.g. bid/quote progress tracker.

To be considered for this role you will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels within an organisation.
  • A drive to learn and confidence to ask questions or ask for help if required.
  • Previous experience of working within an office environment.
  • Strong telephone manner.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and time and when required reprioritise in line with changing demands.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability and drive to learn new skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to transport as required.
  • Knowledge / experience of the construction industry is highly beneficial but not essential.

Location: Northwich

Salary: To £19,000 depending on experience

Role: Staff / Permanent only – no subcontractors / limited company!
